Get Out Your Trainer

Please plan on partaking in and posting the following announcement to the Lincoln cycling community.

Starting at 7:30 a.m. Saturday December 29th and continuing with the same Saturday schedule while the weather is rather unpleasant for outdoor riding, group stationary bike training rides will take place at The Cathedral of the Risen Christ Gym located at 3245 S 37th St, aka 37th & Sheridan Blvd. Bring your bike, stationary trainer, something to protect the floor from your stand (mat, towel) and maybe a buck or two to throw in the free will donation bucket for lights. Monsignor Tucker an avid cyclist has made the location available. He is setting up a big screen to show cycling DVD's and working on having the audio channeled through the PA system. We have a few DVD's to ride to, for example the 2003 Tour of Flanders, but please bring your favorites to share. You can come as early as 7:00 to set up, and we will be ending around 9:30 and out by 10:00. Feel free to come and go as you please during this time frame.

The Gym floor is wood and is in nice shape, please remove your shoes with cleats while walking on the floor. No showers are available, but water and restrooms are.

Saturday Night Party

All right, so I'm sure there's a lot of people who read this that I don't know. I'm not really inviting everyone to a party. If you know me, you can come. If you're cool, you can come. If you don't know me and are uncool, you should put on your Chris Carmichael training videos like you do every other Saturday night. Drink some Cytomax (or whatever the energy substance du jour is). You may as well do some doping while you're at it. Write Lance a love letter.

But for the cool kids: Andrea and I are having a christmas/festivus/pre-solstice/semi-holiday party. The address is 317 Maple Street, Louisville, Nebraska. (hint: Mapquest) Sevenish to whenever-ish.

Nice Day Sunday

A group of 12 riders made the Sunday ride through Sprague to Crete, then through Denton on the way home. It was a beautiful day for a ride - hopefully not the last nice day this fall. Thanks to all who came out. More pics can be seen on my blog - Jazz-n-Bikes.

Sunday Ride

I am organizing a Sunday group ride as the weather looks nice for this weekend. We will meet at 1 p.m. at Wilderness Perk (14th and Pine Lake) - the ride will probably be in the 30-40 mile range, and will be at a recreational, conversational pace. Some riders are folks I met during the TdN this last summer, others have done some of the other group rides around Lincoln. Anyone is welcome to join us.
