Thursday Intervals - Race Week Edition

Once again Thursday is upon us, and once again there will be intervals out at Pioneers Park at 5:30 (meet at the Buffalo Statue). As this is a race week, we will do fewer intervals (probably just 2 this week), but with the same intensity to get all you bike racin' fools ready for the upcoming Monumental Memorial Cycling Weekend races. Then we will do an extra long cool down. Questions, comments?

Thursday Intervals

More fun than new DVR Software from Time Warner, it's Thursday Intervals at Pioneers with (some) Huskers. . .
When: Thursday at 5:30P
Where: The Buffalo Statue at Pioneers Park
Who: YOU!
What: A solid hour or so of training loops although what exactly will be determined on the fly. However each "interval" will also include a cool-down/catch-up time to make sure no one rides alone too long. If you haven't done any organized training this year, and would like to get some non-race hard riding, then this is for you.

Questions? Put up a comment, and I will mock you mercilessly answer them to the best of my ability.

Don't forget the Wednesday Night Ride - 5:45 (ish) at the no longer working bridges Hwy 2 and 27th.

Monday Night Ride

Monday, Monday, Monday! Just because it's not the weekend anymore doesn't mean you can't hook up with some super cool bike riding dudes and dudettes.
When: Today (and every Monday.)
Time: 6pm
Where: Blues Bike & Fitness (S. 33rd & Pioneers)

Hosted by the world famous and super cool UNL Cycling Team, the recovery ride is a great way to end the start of your week (go ahead all you English Majors from Tallahassee, parse that sentence). Good company and a great way to meet new people. Also a great opportunity for your first group ride because the pace is relaxed.

And remember this is Bike To Work Week in the middle of Bike To Work Month, so if you can't make it tonight, show your two wheel pride daily at the office.

Bike to Work

Bike to Work Week

May is National Bike Month in the U.S. but that's no big deal for most of us gung-ho roadies. Every month is bike month! But within May is another promotion that we want you to take part in.

We're talking about Bike to Work Week (May 14-18) and Bike to Work Day (May 18 in most states). These annual programs are championed by the League of American Bicyclists, the national advocacy organization, to encourage bike commuting.

It's a great time to give it a try. Spring weather is here and gas prices are back to $3 a gallon.

Sure you've thought about riding to work or school instead of driving, but you have an amazing ability to talk yourself out of it by imagining all sorts of obstacles.
