Excellent bike destination

This Sunday, the Lincoln Municipal Band will present the first concert of its 100th Anniversary Season. The season is made up concerts on eight consecutive Sundays, ending on August 19. The bandshell in Antelope Park is an excellent bicycle destination, and the concerts are excellent events for the entire family. 7:00-8:00 p.m. If you've never heard the Lincoln Municipal Band, I guarantee it is a better band than you expect.

Want more incentive to attend? I will be playing euphonium for the first three concerts and bass trombone for the final three.

What's a euphonium? What's a bass trombone? Come to the concerts and find out.

The best part: The concerts are absolutely free.

Field trip

Comstock Rock

Did you know that Comstock also has a windmill festival? While we did pass through there, this photo wasn't taken at Comstock. Each windmill on this homestead represents one year of marriage. The husband built each one and like all men is just a few years behind, but it's the thought that counts right! I think he had twelve standing and a few more in progress on the ground.

Jason's Folk Show

Crescent Moon Coffee. Thursday, June 14. I will be featured songwriter at the New Moon Songwriters' Night. I will play from 7-8:00 and will be followed by a host of talented performers at the open mic. If at least five people show up in bike gear, I will play a little song called "Bike Shop Girl" which has more innuendo than you've ever heard in a song about bicycles.

Hope to see you there.

Anyone wanna plan a trip?

A friend of mine has a Carnegie Library that she's restoring into a Bed & Breakfest place in beautiful Burwell Nebraska. She said I could borrow it sometime. Why drive all the way out to beautiful Burwell Nebraska? Lake Calamus. Fifty mile ride around the lake. We could do one lap, sit and eat smores, and then another lap. I just need to determine a good date to plan for. How about the second weekend of July? Friday the 13th-Saturday the 14th? Stay over Friday or drive up early Saturday?
